So often are collections of virtuose works, sonatas, and major concerti recorded that regrettably, some of the most entracing and inspiring musical experiences are neglected. Romanced serves as a tribute to some of the lesser-known works of the Romantic Era and enables music lovers to bridge the gap between major violin and piano. The works on this disc exemplify the attempt of nineteenth-century romantic composers to infuse nationalistic pride and appeal to the listeners' emotions rather than pure intellect and reason, typical of Romantic-Era.
